The idea behind The Office Time Machine is brilliant: it is a video of all the cultural references found in every season of The Office. This tedious task fell on the shoulders of Joe Sabia, as a project to "advocate for copyright reform and highlight the importance of fair use in protecting creators and their art."
The Office is relatable (and hilarious) because it borrows so much from culture, and people get the references. Culture is societys collected knowledge, art, and customs. Its what surrounds us and unites us, and it allows us to collectively laugh at a joke in The Office about Ben Franklin or M. Night Shyamalan. Culture, simply put, is the seasoning in a meal.
By the way: when I went on YouTube to grab the embed code, a warning popped up saying, This video is unlisted. Be considerate and think twice before sharing. I decided to post it anyway, as there isn't enough traffic on this site to fear it would go viral. Additionally, a quick Google search yields that many more popular sites have already posted about it.
