Flight Rail Corporation is showcasing a working prototype of their VECTORR, an elevated high-speed rail system propelled by air pressure. They claim the vehicle can "operate at speeds in excess of 200 mph and to climb grades as steep as 10%, more than three times steeper than a conventional train can climb."
What makes our patented high-speed rail technology better than other novel alternatives? There are numerous advantages arising from its light weight and unique propulsion system. It can climb steeper grades and turn tighter turns than any other rail system, so it's far more versatile. It is also less expensive and safer for passengers than some of the alternatives being pursued by others.
The system offers an alternative to high-speed, conventional steel-wheel-on-rail trains, Maglev technology, and others. Other VECTORR applications include light freight, shuttle service, and travel in environmentally sensitive areas.
